Taenia solium is a parasite transmitted between humans and pigs.Taenia solium is commonly known as the pork tapeworm and frequently
infects people through uncooked or unfrozen pork products. A person becomes infected with either the eggs which hatch in the small intestine
and perforate the muscles where they develop into cysticerci, or by eating pork infected with mature cysticerci which develop into
adult worms and attach to the small intestine where they may reside for 25 years and attain a length of 2-7 meters. Click to download

Dear Readers, Epilepsy is the worst understood disease since biblical times. Those who live with it live in fear of getting seizures and are often neglected by their families. The social stigma surrounding epilepsy influences the way individuals relate with others.

Epilepsy & Relationships: To disclose or not to disclose

Most people with epilepsy have normal healthy relationships in which their epilepsy causes no problems. This may be because their seizures are well controlled or because they have a lifestyle where they are very open about their epilepsy, giving simple explanations and practical guidance to their friends etc. Forming new relationships can be a difficult time for any of us.
